Inspired by the quirks and variations in the typeface neighbor, I created a set of posters themed around chess. The posters use underlying type grids such as radial, modular, bilateral, manuscript, column, transitional, axial, and dilatational. I learned how to manipulate type within these systems to create bold and compelling compositions.
